2014 Lunar Eclipse – “Blood Moon” as seen from St. Petersburg, Florida

One thing that I learned is that it is VERY hard to take a photo at night without a tripod.  I have a Nikon Coolpix camera.  It is not fancy or expensive, but it usually takes good photos.  I held my camera on the top of the dock, downstairs from where I live.  It was still hard to keep it totally steady for the half second the shutter would stay open.  I joked with my friend Abra that I was not going to stay up and watch it because I knew some crazy nut would stay up for me and post the photos online.  I guess that crazy nut was me tonight! Also, I would have taken more photos as the moon re-emerged, but the clouds rolled in, to block the view.  It was fun while it lasted I guess.
